How it works
Marshall Municipal Utilities (MMU) offers a menu of rebates and related credits for residential electric customers. The page says the program is intended to help customers conserve energy, save money, and keep utility rates among the lowest in the area.
What the money covers
The page lists rebates for ENERGY STAR appliances and equipment, including clothes washers, clothes dryers, dishwashers, refrigerators, freezers, room air conditioners, dehumidifiers, central air conditioners, heat pumps, electric water heaters, heat pump water heaters, solar thermal water heaters, EV chargers, LED lighting, and WaterSense toilets. It also describes free WaterSense showerheads and faucet aerators.

Other load-management credits listed include $3 per month for 12 months per year for electric water heaters and $3 per month for 6 months (November-April) for electric furnaces. MMU says it pays $30 toward installation of load-management equipment for one connected load and $10 for each additional load.
How to apply
The page says rebate forms can be picked up at the office, mailed, faxed, downloaded, or in some cases obtained from local retail stores. It also says completed rebate applications are returned to MMU, and after receipt of a completed application MMU will issue a credit on the next utility bill or a check if the rebate amount is over $100 or the customer is a budget-bill customer.
Timing and deadlines
No end date is stated on the page. The page does state that participation in MMU's Load Management Program is a condition of service for all new construction and remodeling where electric water heating, electric heating, or central air conditioning is installed.
