Terms of Use
Please read these terms carefully before using the Cindera platform.
Last Updated: July 8, 2026
1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using the Cindera Inc. website and platform (the "Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use and all applicable laws and regulations. If you do not agree with any of these terms, you are prohibited from using or accessing this site.
2. Description of Service
Cindera provides wildfire risk assessment, property hardening verification, and compliance monitoring services. Our goal is to help California homeowners reduce wildfire risk and improve their property's wildfire readiness through verified risk mitigation, which may support their efforts to obtain insurance. Cindera does not sell or place insurance (see Section 6).
3. User Responsibilities
You are responsible for providing accurate information about your property. Any certification issued by Cindera is based on the data provided and verified at the time of inspection. You agree not to misrepresent property conditions or tamper with monitoring equipment.
4. Intellectual Property
The Cindera platform, including its proprietary risk scoring models, software, and content, is the property of Cindera Inc. and is protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws. Cindera™ and the Cindera logo are trademarks of Cindera Inc. Use of these marks without permission is prohibited.
5. Limitation of Liability
While Cindera's hardening measures are designed to significantly reduce wildfire risk, no measure can guarantee a property will not be damaged by fire. Cindera Inc. shall not be liable for any property damage, loss of life, or other damages resulting from wildfire events.
6. Insurance Disclaimer; Cindera Is Not an Insurance Producer
Cindera is a wildfire risk-assessment, home-hardening, and documentation platform. Cindera is not an insurance company, carrier, agent, broker, producer, or adjuster, and is not licensed to transact insurance. Cindera does not sell, solicit, negotiate, bind, issue, or place insurance, does not recommend specific insurance products, and does not provide insurance advice. Nothing in the Service constitutes an offer of insurance or a representation that any particular coverage, eligibility, premium, or pricing outcome can or will be achieved.
The Service helps you assess and document your property's wildfire risk and mitigation work. If you choose to pursue insurance, Cindera may, at your request and with your consent, connect you with, or transmit the information and documentation you provide to, independent third-party insurance professionals and carriers who are separately licensed. Those third parties are not employees or agents of Cindera, and Cindera does not control and is not responsible for their acts, omissions, advice, quotes, or decisions. All decisions regarding eligibility, underwriting, coverage, terms, and pricing are made solely by the applicable licensed insurance professionals and carriers.
Cindera does not guarantee that you will obtain insurance, be removed from the California FAIR Plan, qualify for the voluntary market, or achieve any particular premium, savings, or coverage result. Any information Cindera provides about insurance, including how mitigation may relate to insurability under California's "Safer From Wildfires" framework or other programs, is general educational information only and is not a guarantee of any specific outcome. Insurance availability, eligibility, and pricing depend on your property, location, the insurer, and market and regulatory conditions outside Cindera's control. You are responsible for your own insurance decisions and should consult a licensed insurance professional regarding your specific situation.
Where permitted by law, Cindera may receive compensation from third parties in connection with referrals or partnerships. Any such compensation does not change the price you pay for insurance and does not constitute the transaction of insurance by Cindera.
7. Data Sharing with Community Partners
In some areas, homeowners receive access to Cindera at no cost because a community partner — such as a municipality, county, fire department, fire protection district, homeowners association, or utility — sponsors the Service for their community. If you access Cindera through a sponsoring partner, you agree that Cindera may share information gathered through the Service with that partner. This includes aggregated, rolled-up information about wildfire risk and mitigation progress in the partner's coverage area, as well as your mitigation action submissions and their verification status, including any photo, video, or document evidence you attach to a verified submission.
We do not share your private account data with partners. Partners do not receive your login credentials, payment information, personal messages, or notes you submit with your mitigation work, and they only see evidence from submissions that have been reviewed and verified. Partner access is limited to their own coverage area and is provided to help them plan community wildfire mitigation, target outreach, and document readiness.
8. Governing Law
These terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
9. Changes to Terms
Cindera Inc. reserves the right to revise these terms at any time without notice. By using this website, you are agreeing to be bound by the then-current version of these Terms of Use.
