How it works

Dauphin County says this program was funded by a grant from the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, Department of Community and Economic Development and administered by the Dauphin County Redevelopment Authority. The county page says the program was a county-wide housing rehabilitation program and that applications are now closed.

What the money covers

According to the county application materials, grant funds could be used to bring a property up to standards that correct existing deficiencies or hazards, make it a decent, safe and sanitary place to live, improve energy efficiency, or improve accessibility.

The application materials also say grant funds could not be used to reimburse repairs already made or pay off debt incurred to finance previous repairs.

The application materials state that grants of up to $50,000 were available to income-eligible homeowners in Dauphin County.
