How it works
Susquehanna County says the Commissioners have dedicated Marcellus Legacy Fund money to a Mini-Grant Program. Applications are submitted online through the county website, and applicants receive an email confirmation when the application is received. The county warns that once you begin the form, it must be completed in one sitting because progress cannot be saved.
What the money covers
Eligible projects must support and advance the goals and objectives of the Marcellus Legacy Fund. The page lists these eligible uses:
- acquisition, development, and repair of greenways
- recreation trails
- open space
- natural areas
- community conservation and beautification projects
- community and heritage parks
- water resource management
Grants are paid directly to the grantee. Costs are paid only to the extent they are incurred by the grantee in performance of the project scope of work.
Amounts and matching
- Applicants may request up to $10,000.
- If the total project cost is more than the grant award, the applicant must verify the additional funds needed for the completed project at the time of application.
- Letters of commitment from partners providing local match must describe the type of program assistance, the match amount, and how the partner contributes to the project.
