Storm-Related Emergency Home Repair Grant Program

How it works

Union County is launching the Storm-Related Emergency Home Repair Grant Program to help senior homeowners recover from the severe storms that hit the region on July 3 and July 14, 2025. The program is administered by Development Directions, LLC. Homeowners apply through the county program process, and once an application is submitted, an inspection is conducted to determine the scope of repairs needed. A cost estimate is then prepared to establish the grant amount.

What the money covers

The grant is for “necessary repairs” to homes damaged by the recent storms. The official announcement does not provide a more detailed eligible-repair list.

Amounts and repayment

• Up to $10,000 in funding
• No repayment is required
• The county notes that homeowners who need additional support beyond the grant may be able to use the separate Home Improvement Program, which provides interest-free loans with no repayment required until the property is sold or transferred
