Brunswick Electric Membership Corporation Residential Rebates

How it works

BEMC offers residential rebates in the form of bill credits. The rebate page says you must submit a contractor’s invoice and/or receipt for the purchase or installation, dated within six months of the rebate application date.

What the money covers

The published rebate amounts include:

• $300 for high-efficiency heat pumps, limited to 2 per account
• $600 for cold-climate heat pumps, limited to 2 per account
• $300 for heat pump water heaters, limited to 2 per account

What the page says about qualifying equipment

For high-efficiency heat pumps, the page lists:

• at least 16 SEER2
• at least 7.8 HSPF2
• at least 11.0 EER2
• ENERGY STAR certified
• AHRI certificate required

For cold-climate heat pumps, the page lists:

• at least 16 SEER2
• at least 8.5 HSPF2
• at least 11.7 EER2
• COP at 5°F of at least 1.75
• ENERGY STAR certified
• AHRI certificate required

For heat pump water heaters, the page lists:

• 55 gallons or less: at least 2.0 UEF
• more than 55 gallons: at least 2.2 UEF
• ENERGY STAR certified

Timing and limits

• Rebates are paid as bill credits
• The page says the invoice or receipt must be dated within six months of the application date
• Limit 2 per account for each listed rebate type
