How it works

This is a no-cost program for eligible Ameren Illinois residential customers. The program provides home upgrades and minor repairs to improve safety, comfort, indoor air quality, and overall home health.

What the money covers

Eligible customers may receive improvements such as:

• Air sealing
• Insulation
• Lighting replacement
• Ventilation
• Moisture control measures
• Other safety measures

The website says the exact upgrades and repairs are based on an assessment by qualified contractors. After a full inspection, a work order is created listing the identified upgrades and minor repairs.

The page also says the initiative only allows upgrades and minor repairs, not full construction such as roof replacement, extensive plumbing, or siding. Window replacements are not eligible.

Who does the work

Work is performed by contractors enrolled with the Ameren Illinois Energy Efficiency Program, called Program Allies.

Timing and process

• If accepted, the home is inspected and a work order is created.
• A final inspection occurs after the work is finished.
