How it works

Illinois Emergency Management Agency and Office of Homeland Security administers the Hazard Mitigation Grant Program for the state. The program provides grants to state and local governments as well as eligible private, non-profit organizations to implement cost-effective and long-term mitigation measures following a major disaster declaration.

What the money covers
