City of Springfield Cannabis Homeowner Assistance Program

How it works

What the money covers

Eligible exterior improvements include:

• Exterior painting or siding
• Exterior tuck-pointing and masonry
• Roofs
• Windows
• Front porches/front stairs

Amounts and matching

• Maximum assistance: up to $25,000
• Homeowner share: 5% of the entire repair cost
• If approved, everyone listed on the deed must sign the agreement

How to apply

Applicants are instructed to:

1. Apply online and provide their information.
2. Contact two contractors for bids for the scope of work.
3. If more than one type of repair is needed, obtain two bids for each type of repair.
4. Submit the two bids to the Office of Planning and Economic Development (OPED).
5. Wait for OPED to contact them with next steps and additional information.
