Wildfire County Coordinator Program

How it works

The Resource Conservation District of Tehama County says the Wildfire County Coordinator Program supports local wildfire readiness groups and offers technical assistance services for a fire-adapted Tehama County. The coordinator also attends local group meetings, exchanges information, develops partnerships, tracks collaborative efforts, participates in the California Fire Safe Council networking workshop, and conducts public engagement at local events.

What the service covers

The page identifies three core service areas:

• Home Hardening: increasing a building and structure’s resistance to better withstand wildfire.
• Disaster Readiness: preparing for emergencies including extreme heat, wildfires, wildfire smoke, power outage, fast and cold water, floods, earthquakes, and severe storms.
• Community Wildfire Protection Plan (CWPP) development: using the CAL FIRE Toolkit.

What homeowners get

The page says limited-time Disaster Ready Starter Kits are available and tells visitors to contact the program for details. It also points people to Listos California for more information. The page does not say what is included in the kits or assign any cash value.

Timing and deadlines

The page mentions public engagement during local 2026 events, including:

• 2026 Red Bluff/Tehama County Chamber Certified Farmer’s Markets on July 8 and August 19
• Disaster Readiness BINGO on July 14 and August 18 at the RB Community Center, and August 20 at Villa Columba

The page does not provide an application deadline or a closing date for the program.
