Truckee Fire gives homeowners one free reflective address sign to help emergency responders find homes more quickly during a wildfire response. The sign is available only during a defensible-space inspection or at an in-person event.

How it works
Truckee Fire says property owners can get one free reflective address sign to improve visibility for emergency responders. The sign is intended to help responders locate homes faster during a fire.
How to get it
You can receive the sign in one of two ways:
- During a defensible-space inspection, where a Defensible Space Specialist meets with you at the property and provides the sign.
- At an in-person event, where you request an inspection at the event and get the sign made and delivered at the time of the inspection.
Important limits
The district says address signs are only available during an inspection or at an in-person event. They are not available to order online, by email, or for pickup at any fire station.
