TinderSmart Tehama

How it works

TinderSmart Tehama is a suite of wildfire readiness services offered by the Resource Conservation District of Tehama County. The program is meant to reduce hazardous fuels at the private parcel, community, and landscape levels, and the page says the RCDTC works with large and small-scale landowners to reduce vegetative fuels on their property.

What the money covers

The page lists four services under the program:

• free Defensible Space Assistance
• Cost-Share Vegetation Treatments
• Hazard Tree Removal
• Community Chipping

It also describes the suite as providing low-fee to no-fee access to professional vegetation management. The page does not give separate dollar amounts for each service.

Who runs it

The program is a collaborative effort of the RCDTC and its nonprofit, the Tehama Conservation Fund. The page also notes that the RCDTC facilitates Community Wildfire Protection Plans, Tehama-Glenn Fire Safe Council efforts, wildfire readiness workshops, and educational outreach.

Timing and deadlines

The page says TinderSmart Tehama is grant funded, so services are provided intermittently. No specific application window, deadline, or end date is stated.

Where it applies

The page says the services are available to residents within Tehama County’s State Responsibility Area (SRA), Local Responsibility Area (LRA), or Wild-Urban Interface (WUI) zones.
