How it works
PG&E’s Generator & Battery Rebates program gives a rebate after purchase for qualifying portable generators or portable batteries. The program page says the application cannot be submitted until the product has been delivered and received, and customers must provide proof of purchase and proof of delivery.
Amounts
- Up to $300 per qualified customer account
- If the customer participates in CARE or FERA, they may receive an additional up to $200
- Rebates are limited to one per customer account
Timing and deadlines
Applications must be submitted within 12 months from the purchase date or by December 31, 2026, whichever comes first.
Product rules
Portable generators must be on PG&E’s qualified product list and must be California Air Resources Board compliant. Portable batteries must be at least 290Wh and no more than 1,000Wh. The page also says certain products are excluded, including resale, rebuilt, refurbished, open-box, rented, or leased for less than five years products, plus batteries received from warranty or insurance claims, exchanged items, or prizes.
How to check eligibility
