Program details

How it works

The Home Advisory Program is a free review of defensible space as well as the home and other structures. South Skyline says the advisory form is based on the CAL FIRE LE100 Inspection form plus newer National Volunteer Fire Council standards.

What the money covers

This is a free advisory service rather than a cash payment. The council says it does not share the results with any other agency, and the homeowner is responsible for carrying out any recommendations.

How to apply

Homeowners schedule a visit by emailing the program address listed on the page.

Important note

The page makes clear that the council is not liable for damage from fires, and that the purpose is to help homeowners identify defensible-space and home-hardening improvements.
