What the program covers
The county’s standards include defensible space, roof and chimney-adjacent vegetation management, and weed/grass/rubbish abatement. For LRA parcels in very high severity zones, the county points to the 100-foot defensible space standard, with an ember-resistant zone required within 5 feet of the structure.
Timing and repeat work
The county states that abatement is not a one-time observance and that property owners will likely need to address their properties more than once during the year. It says this is especially critical from April through October.
