Efficiency Navigator program pilot grant program

How it works

The Efficiency Navigator program helps small to medium-sized multifamily housing become more efficient and resilient while reducing operating costs and utility bills for residents. It provides complimentary efficiency assessments and step-by-step technical assistance to help building owners navigate implementation of improvements.

The program also runs a pilot grant program to fund efficiency upgrades in naturally occurring affordable housing (NOAH) in Madison’s Northside and Southwest neighborhoods.

What the money covers

Selected buildings may receive funding for upgrades such as:

• efficient lighting
• improved heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems
• improved insulation
• air sealing
• water softener optimization
• tune-ups or replacement
• water conserving fixtures
• recommendations to improve home health, such as reducing asthma triggers

Amounts and matching

Selected buildings will receive between $10,000 and $20,000 in funding.
