How it works

For Northern Virginia residents, Habitat DC-NOVA partners with TruBlue Total House Care to help homeowners with low incomes safely age in place or address other hazards in their homes. TruBlue provides an in-home safety assessment and then completes necessary repairs.

What the money covers

The page lists the following repair types:

  • Deck repairs, deck board replacement, and fence repairs
  • Cabinetry installation
  • Storm door or screen door installation
  • Interior door replacement or installation, but not door widening
  • Grab bar installation
  • Replacement thresholds
  • Fans and lighting replacement only; no new wiring
  • Bathroom and kitchen faucet replacement
  • Toilet replacement
  • Vanity replacements
