Resilient And Innovative Neighbor (RAIN) grant program

How it works

The City of Hampton and the Chesapeake Bay Foundation partnered to create the Resilient And Innovative Neighbor (RAIN) pilot grant program. It is part of Hampton’s broader Resilient Hampton initiative and the Newmarket Creek Water Plan. Selected participants can be reimbursed for one or more eligible RAIN actions on their property:

• replacing an area of mowed lawn with a rain garden
• using special pavers in place of an existing driveway or walkway

The reimbursement is supported by a grant from the Chesapeake Bay Foundation.
