Program details
How it works
If you live outside the city limits of Dickson and within five miles of one of the city’s fire stations, you can subscribe to the Rural Fire Service Protection Program. In return, the City of Dickson Fire Department says you receive response from its full-time 24/7 fire department in the event of a fire.
What the money covers
This is not a construction grant or retrofit rebate. It is a paid fire-protection service, which the city says may save you money on your homeowners insurance. The city directs you to ask your insurance agent whether the subscription would affect your premium.
Amounts and matching
The program fee is calculated at 0.1% of the improved value of your home.
How to apply
The city says you can apply by stopping by Fire Station #1 at 101 Church Street or by applying online through the city’s application link on the program page. For questions, the city lists contact information for its fire department staff.
