How it works

The C.L.E.A.R. grant is Marion Soil and Water Conservation District’s conservation learning and education grant program. The district says the project or event must advance its mission and must address one or more of these topics: water quality and conservation, soil quality and conservation, and/or sustainable land use.

What the money covers

The page does not describe home hardening materials or construction work. It says eligible projects/events/educational work may support conservation education, outreach, technical assistance, planning, and related work within the district boundary.

Amounts and matching

The maximum dollar limit is $5,000 per application. The district also says there is a maximum of one grant per applicant per month, up to $10,000 per applicant per fiscal year, and up to $30,000 per entity per every 5 consecutive rolling fiscal years.

How to apply

Applications are submitted through the district’s online grant portal. The page lists application due dates, committee review dates, and award/board meeting dates for multiple cycles.

Timing and deadlines

For the 2026-2027 cycle, the page shows application due dates of August 25, 2026; October 27, 2026; January 26, 2027; and March 30, 2027, with review and award dates following each cycle. The district says applicants will be notified within 60 days of submitting requests.
