Small Conservation Projects—Cost Share Program

How it works

Otero Soil and Water Conservation District (OSWCD) says it has a cost-share program for small conservation projects. The page says any landowner with a natural resource concern may apply if they can prove ownership or a lease on land within the Otero SWCD boundary and are a current Otero SWCD cooperator.

What the money covers

The page does not list a specific home-hardening or wildfire-only set of eligible measures. It describes the program broadly as support for small conservation projects tied to a natural resource concern.

Amounts and matching

The page does not state a reimbursement amount, dollar cap, or matching requirement for the small conservation projects cost-share program.

How to apply

The page says information for all of these projects is available from Victoria Milne by email at victoria.milne@nm.nacdnet.net. The page also includes a request-for-proposal notice for an aerial herbicide application project, with copies available at the OSWCD office, by website, or by request to Vicky Milne at 575-437-3100 ext. 3, but that notice is separate from the small conservation projects cost-share description.

Timing and deadlines

No application deadline, opening date, closing date, or funding status is stated for the cost-share program on the page. The page does show a separate RFP deadline for aerial herbicide application activities: proposals were due by 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, July 28, 2026.
