How it works
The New Hampshire Weatherization Assistance Program provides weatherization services to eligible dwellings through the state’s energy office and its subgrantees. The program is designed to improve home efficiency and is not a wildfire-hardening grant.
What the money covers
The official policy manual says the program can weatherize eligible dwellings that have not been previously weatherized, with limited exceptions. It also says a previously weatherized dwelling may be eligible again if it was damaged by fire, flood, or natural disaster and the repair of the weatherization materials is not covered by insurance, or if it qualifies for re-weatherization because the original work was completed before October 1, 1994.
How it works with other programs
The policy manual says a dwelling is not eligible if it has been designated for acquisition or clearance within 12 months of the scheduled weatherization date. It also notes that eligible households can live in single-family, multi-family, or certain group-home settings.
