What the service covers

The page recommends actions such as:

  • cleaning roofs and gutters;
  • maintaining about a 30-foot area around the home free of burnable material;
  • connecting hoses long enough to reach the home and filling large containers with water;
  • reviewing homeowner’s insurance and updating a contents list;
  • getting the Nebraska Forest Service’s Living With Fire homeowners guides for eastern and western Nebraska.
