Bitter Root RC&D fire-safe property grants / cost-share

How it works

Ravalli County’s homeowner guide says that if you have more than 10 acres of forested land, you can contact Bitter Root RC&D for grants to make your property more fire safe. The same county guide says you can also get a free evaluation of your fire danger by a forester from Bitter Root RC&D, and that the program will list approved logging contractors to do “Fire wise” work, or you can do the work yourself.

What the money covers

The county material does not spell out a full itemized scope for the grants. It does say the purpose is to make property “more fire safe,” and it links the funding to wildfire-risk reduction and Firewise work. The same page separately says homeowners may receive up to a 50% cost share, but it does not define whether that applies to all projects, all applicants, or only some types of work.

Amounts and matching

The only concrete amount in the county source is that you may receive up to a 50% cost share. No maximum dollar cap is stated.

How to apply

The county guide gives Bitter Root RC&D’s phone number but does not provide a formal application form or online application link in the cited material.

Timing and deadlines

No timing, funding cycle, or deadline is stated in the county source.
