Ozark Action, Inc. Weatherization Program

How it works

Ozark Action, Inc. says its Weatherization Program is a free service for homeowners or renters who qualify. If approved, crews provide all work and materials at no cost to the household.

The program is designed to make homes more energy efficient and improve comfort. OAI says weatherization can lower heating and cooling costs and that it returns roughly $2.10 in benefits for every $1 invested.

What the money covers

The official page lists these typical weatherization measures:

• Insulation in attics, walls, and/or floors
• Caulking and weather-stripping
• Repairing and replacement of primary doors and windows, guided by blower-door testing
• Testing heating systems for efficiency and safety
• Insulating attics and walls to recommended standards
• Cost-tested measures selected through a computerized audit system so only the most cost-effective work is done

How to apply

Applications are accepted by appointment at the Ozark Action Community Services Offices in the service area. The site says a downloadable application is available.

Related repair program note

The same page says OAI participates in Missouri’s HeRO (Home Repair Opportunity) program, which is for low- and moderate-income homeowners in non-metropolitan Missouri and can provide up to $22,500 for repairs, modifications, and maintenance. However, OAI states it will not participate in HeRO in 2026 and applications are not being accepted at this time.
