How it works

CMCA says its Housing Choice Voucher (HCV) program helps pay a subsidy amount toward rent for low-income individuals so they can live in a house, condo, duplex, townhome, apartment, or mobile home of their choice.

Service area

The page says CMCA serves Callaway, Cole, Cooper, Howard, Moniteau, and Osage counties. It also notes a separate housing agency waitlist update for Boone County effective July 6, 2026, but the page explicitly states that CMCA does not provide housing assistance vouchers in Boone County.

What the money covers

This program covers rent assistance only. The page does not describe home repairs, mitigation work, weatherization, or other homeowner hardening measures under the voucher program.

How to apply

Timing and deadlines

The page announces that the Boone County Public Housing Agency waitlist for the HCV program will open on July 6, 2026, and applications will begin being accepted at that time. The page does not give an application deadline for the counties CMCA serves.
