How it works

Independence Power & Light says the Home Weatherization Program helps low-income families in Jackson, Clay, and Platte county limits by making energy-efficiency upgrades that lower the amount of energy used to heat their homes. After income qualification, families are placed on a waiting list for an energy audit. The audit determines what items need to be addressed.

What the money covers
