Program details
How it works
Energize Liberty Homes is a Missouri residential rebate program from Liberty Utilities. Liberty says it has a new, simpler process for customers and contractors, and that the program helps customers recover money spent to upgrade their home.
What the money covers
The program covers:
- A home energy audit
- A home energy saving kit, when deemed appropriate by a qualified auditor
- Recommended energy-efficiency upgrades selected after the audit
Liberty says rebate amounts vary depending on the efficiency tier achieved and the eligible costs of the upgrades selected.
Amounts and matching
The page lists three incentive paths:
- Home Energy Audit: 100% of audit cost, up to $500
- Home Energy Saving Kit: 100% of the kit cost
- Tier 1: 35% of eligible project cost, up to $2,000
- Tier 2: 50% of eligible project cost, up to $5,000
To reduce initial out-of-pocket costs, rebates can be transferred to an approved third party.
How it works by tier
- Tier 1 requires recommended upgrades to achieve 10% natural gas savings through recommended building shell measures only.
- Tier 2 requires recommended upgrades to achieve 20% natural gas savings, and recommended building shell measures must be installed before equipment upgrades.
How to apply
The page says to start by reading the Frequently Asked Questions and Checklist and signing the Terms and Conditions. Then:
- Schedule a home energy audit with a qualified auditor.
- After the audit, submit the Audit Summary Form and required documents to EarthWays Center (EWC).
- Wait for EWC approval before starting home improvement projects.
- After installation is complete, contact your auditor for a final inspection and verification of goal achievement.
- Submit the Rebate Request Form and required documents to EWC.
Liberty says to allow about 4 weeks to receive the rebate. Questions can be directed to EarthWays Center at 1-877-474-6749 or by email.
Timing and deadlines
The page does not give a closing date. It says the program is available now and participants should follow the step-by-step approval process before starting work.
