CMCA Weatherization Assistance Program

How it works

CMCA runs the Weatherization Assistance Program for an eight-county region that includes Callaway County. The program provides weatherization work to eligible residents, and CMCA says it can make homes safer and healthier while reducing energy use. The work is performed through CMCA’s program team and contractors.

CMCA says weatherization funds are provided by the U.S. Department of Energy, the Department of Social Services, and Ameren UE, and are administered by the Missouri Department of Natural Resources.

The page directs residents to apply through CMCA. It also notes that annual contractor bids are taken in June and HVAC system replacement bids are taken throughout the year.

Notes for homeowners

This is an energy/weatherization program rather than a wildfire-specific hardening grant, but some of the work it funds can still overlap with home hardening by improving a home’s envelope and safety systems.
