How it works

Section 462A.05, subdivision 15c authorizes the agency to make or purchase loans or grants for abatement of hazardous levels of lead paint in residential buildings and lead-contaminated soil on the property of residential buildings occupied by low- and moderate-income persons.

What the money covers

The statute says the agency may cover abatement of hazardous levels of lead paint and lead-contaminated soil. It also authorizes grants to cities, local units of government, registered lead abatement contractors, and nonprofit organizations to administer a residential lead paint and contaminated soil abatement program.
