WeCare Program

How it works

WeCare is LG&E and KU’s voluntary education and weatherization program for income-qualified customers. Eligible participants receive a home energy audit report, and a representative may install approved items at no additional cost. The program is designed to create savings through weatherization and energy education while helping customers better manage energy use.

What the money covers

For homeowners and renters, the program may provide:

• LED bulbs
• Programmable/smart thermostats
• Energy-efficient water devices
• In some cases, weatherization products such as insulation and duct sealing

The page specifically says doors and windows are not included.

For apartment building owners, the program provides:

• An energy audit report and education
• Installation of energy-efficient measures in common areas and occupied tenant units, excluding doors and windows
• Incentives of up to 50% of the incremental cost for whole-building projects

• Condos/townhouses/similar
• Modular or mobile homes

Timing and deadlines

The page does not give a start or end date.
