Campbell County Trash Voucher Program

How it works

Campbell County’s Solid Waste office runs a voucher program that lets households dispose of household trash at designated transfer/disposal sites without paying the resident-facing disposal fee. The county says households get four free vouchers per program year, and residents can receive two vouchers in each of the two voucher periods.

The county also says households impacted by recent storms and flooding may be eligible for additional vouchers. In a separate flood-cleanup notice, the county says it offered free, unlimited trash vouchers to households impacted by the disaster through June 30, 2025.

What the money or service covers

Accepted material includes household trash, furniture, mattresses, yard waste, and home renovation debris. In the flood-cleanup notice, accepted debris also includes drywall and insulation, carpeting and rugs, tree limbs and yard debris, and bagged household waste.

Not accepted: hazardous waste, tires, appliances, electronics, and liquid waste. Rumpke may refuse any load.

Amounts and limits

Each voucher covers one truckload or one 8-foot trailer load. If stacked, the pile must be under 3 feet tall. Any additional disposal cost is the resident’s responsibility.

How to apply

The county says applicants must provide proof of Campbell County residency, such as a valid driver’s license or photo ID, utility bill, deed, or lease.

Timing and deadlines

Voucher Period 1 runs July 1 to December 31, and Voucher Period 2 runs January 1 to June 30. Vouchers are valid upon receipt until the end of the voucher period.
