Free mulch for Boone County residents
Boone County gives residents free mulch made from chipped county right-of-way trees. Residents can pick it up at the county yard on Fridays while supplies last.

How it works
Boone County Public Works chips trees removed from county rights-of-way into mulch and recycles it. The county then offers that mulch free to Boone County residents for pickup.
What the service covers
The official handout says the mulch is untreated and has no dyes added. It does not describe any installation work, only pickup of free mulch.
Timing and pickup
Residents may pick up mulch at the Boone County Public Works Yard/Recycling Center at 3275 Maplewood Drive in Burlington. Pickup is available on Fridays throughout the year from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., while supplies last.
Notes
The county says residents should call 859-334-3151 to check availability. The handout also says loading assistance can be provided, but Boone County is not liable for damages if loading assistance is requested.
