Brush Up Reno

How it works

Reno County has a program called Brush Up Reno, administered with Interfaith Housing & Community Services, Inc. The county agreement says Interfaith markets the program countywide, processes eligible applications, issues voucher awards, works with partners to inspect projects, and completes before/after photos and quarterly reporting. The program began April 1, 2025 and is renewable subject to funding availability.

What the money covers

The core award is for exterior paint and/or supplies. The county agreement also budgets a separate line for “homeowner prep assistance (trees/obstructions/etc.),” which suggests some work needed to get the home ready for painting can be addressed through the program.

Amounts and matching

Each award is listed at $1,500 per project. The 2025 funding request shows 30 awards at $1,500 each, plus separate administrative and prep-assistance budget lines.

How to apply

The county agreement says Interfaith is the program operator and processes eligible applications. A 2025 application excerpt says homeowners complete an application and return it to Interfaith Housing & Community Services in Hutchinson.

Timing and deadlines

The agreement says the program began April 1, 2025 and is renewable if funding continues. The application packet indicates the county expected 30 awards in 2025.
