How it works

The Indiana Energy Saver Program bundles two rebate offerings into one application: Home Efficiency Rebates (HOMES) and Home Appliance Rebates (HEAR). The state says participants receive the rebate as an upfront discount on the product and installation by a qualified contractor.

What the money covers

HOMES covers whole-home retrofits that achieve at least 20% predicted energy savings. The examples listed by the state include insulation, air sealing, and ENERGY STAR-certified equipment such as HVAC systems and water heaters.

HEAR is for low- and moderate-income households and covers select first-time upgrades. The examples listed by the state include heat pump water heaters, heat pump HVAC systems, and electrical upgrades.

Amounts and matching

The official state page does not give a single maximum dollar amount on the overview page. It does say the program is supported by $182 million in federal funding and that rebates are delivered as an upfront discount rather than reimbursement.

How to apply

The state directs homeowners to apply through the Indiana Energy Saver program portal. The Office of Energy Development says the program is open.

Timing and deadlines

The official grants page says both HOMES and HEAR are open and rolling until funds are exhausted.
