Hazard Mitigation Grant Program (HMGP)

How it works

The Office of Emergency Management says HMGP is authorized under Section 404 of the Stafford Act and provides grants to states and local governments after a major disaster declaration. The purpose is to reduce losses from future disasters and support long-term hazard mitigation during recovery.

Who the program is for
