How it works

Polk County Housing Services Division administers the Weatherization Assistance Program on behalf of the State of Iowa Weatherization Assistance Program. The program serves homeowners and renters residing in Polk County, including all cities within the county.

If you qualify and your home reaches the program’s priority level, staff will contact you to schedule an initial home evaluation. Polk County then hires a qualified contractor to do the work, and staff inspect the finished work for quality control.
