Façade Grant Program

How it works

The City of Perry Main Street Advisory Board offers a Façade Grant Program to encourage investment, preserve the character of historic buildings, and enhance the visual appeal of Historic Downtown Perry. The program is reimbursement-based: work must be approved before it starts, and funds are paid after completion and inspection.

What the money covers

Eligible improvements listed on the official page include exterior painting and cleaning, masonry repair and tuck-pointing, repair or replacement of windows, doors, or awnings, exterior lighting, signage consistent with design guidelines, and restoration of architectural details. The page also indicates that the program is tied to historic downtown property improvements rather than disaster recovery.

Amounts and matching

The grant is a 50/50 reimbursement program with a maximum award of up to $2,000 per property. A separate guidelines document says payments may not exceed 50% of total project cost.

How to apply

Applicants must review the guidelines, submit an application with proposed plans, cost estimates, and photos of existing conditions, and then wait for Main Street Advisory Board design review. Work may not begin before approval. After the project is completed and inspected, reimbursement is issued for eligible expenses.

Timing and deadlines
