The materials specifically say emergency situations can include immediate threats to the health or safety of the homeowner or threats to the public in the vicinity of the property.

Amounts and matching

The city materials say an emergency waiver may permit immediate expenditure of up to $2,500 to address the emergency threat, or up to $5,000 for HVAC. The program does not require repayment.

How to apply

The official packet instructs applicants to complete the application and provide supporting documentation. It also says emergency waivers may be approved by the Department of Economic and Community Development when a repair qualifies as an emergency.

Timing and deadlines
