Program details

How it works

Wildfire Partners provides free individualized wildfire home assessments conducted by a trained wildfire mitigation specialist. The service gives homeowners a personalized risk assessment and a mitigation checklist tailored to the property.

What the service includes

The assessment is meant to identify wildfire vulnerabilities and recommend next-step home-hardening actions. The program page also says west county participants can later obtain an insurance-recognized certificate once required mitigation actions are complete and the final inspection is passed.

Geographic structure

The county uses two tracks: an East County Individual Home Assessment Program and a West County Individual Home Assessment and Certificate Program.

Timing

The program page says assessments are offered year-round, and the West County program has been available since 2014. The East County program serves rural residents east of Highways 36 and 93.

Costs

The official page says the home assessments are free for eligible homeowners.
