How it works

Eagle Valley Wildland, in partnership with the Eagle River Fire Protection District, offers wildfire home assessments to residents in Eagle County. These on-site visits help homeowners understand wildfire risk and provide practical recommendations for creating defensible space and hardening the home.

What the service includes

The page does not list a dollar amount because this is a free service rather than a cash incentive. It is presented as a no-cost home wildfire assessment.

How to request it

Homeowners are asked to email home@eagleriverfire.org and include:

Full name
Property address
Best contact phone number and email

The same page also references a community slash removal and chipping program for May 2026 and Eagle County open burn permits, but those are separate services from the home assessment itself.
