Oracle Fire District Firewise Free Property Assessment

How it works

Oracle Fire District says homeowners can call the fire station to schedule a free Firewise assessment with a trained volunteer. The assessor walks around the property with the homeowner, discusses what should be done, helps prioritize the projects, and provides a customized assessment form to make the home and property safer for wildfires.

What the service covers

The district’s newsletter frames the assessment around wildfire home hardening and defensible space. It specifically highlights work such as trimming trees, mowing grass short, removing dead leaves and pine needles, cleaning gutters and roof seams, moving wood piles away from structures, keeping decks and staircases clear underneath, and changing air vent screens from 1/4 inch to 1/8 inch.
